ASPARAGUS

Asparagus is a vegetable native to Asia, of which the tender shoot called “turion” is used for consumption. It is frequently used in special “haute cuisine” preparations and is a primary source of compounds that contribute to proper blood circulation.

Currently, the valleys of La Libertad located in the North and those of Ica in the south are the two main asparagus production areas in Peru. Both have privileged natural conditions that, combined with technology and entrepreneurial qualities, have made Peru the largest exporter of asparagus in the world.
